PORTLAND, Ore. – Linfield got down early and couldn't recover against Lewis & Clark on Saturday afternoon at Griswold Stadium. The Pioneers (2-3-0, 2-0) scored two goals in the first half and beat the Wildcats (3-2-2, 1-1-1) 2-0 for Linfield's first Northwest Conference loss.
Bella Hanna was shown a red card in the first half and forced Linfield to finish the last 66 minutes with 10 players.
Linfield finished with four shots, two on goal and two corner kicks.
Jocelyn Jacobs accounted for both Wildcats shots on goal.
Emilee Miller saw 14 shots come her way and saved four.
Reese Jones led the 'Cats in minutes played with 66.
The Pioneers' first goal came from Celeste Schreifels when she punched a sweeping cross with Abby Morrow and Megan Yanagi being credited with an assist.
Only a few moments after Hanna's red card, Carson Warfield doubled the Pioneers lead before halftime with another goal.
The Wildcats were already facing an uphill battle being a player down and were held in check, only getting one shot in the second half.
Lewis & Clark finished with 14 shots, six shots on goal, and six corner kicks. Sophia Young tallied two saves on four shots faced. Abby Hayes, Katie Meinhard and Morrow all played 90 minutes for the Pioneers.
