Wildcats enjoy season-best efforts at Willamette Invitational

SALEM, Ore. – Ronan Krutzikowsky and Dylan Jackson were top finishers for the Linfield Wildcats on Saturday, highlighting a day of positive results at the Willamette Invitational at McCulloch Stadium.
 
With 79 points, Linfield's men placed third among 12 competing colleges. The Wildcat women were eighth with 42 points in a field of 11 teams.
 
MEN
Krutzikowsky was the top finisher in the 400-meter hurdles. His time of 56.43 cut more a second off his previous best time of 57.93 and was more than a full second faster than runner-up Simon Kidder of Willamette, who finished in 57.97.
 
Jackson took top honors in the 200 dash, besting a field of 18 entries with a time of 22.65.
 
Chandler Morris was runner-up in the 400 dash, crossing the finish line in a season-best time of 50.05 seconds. Jackson and Daniel Olson went 2-3 in the 100 dash, clocking 11.13 and 11.14, respectively.
 
Jacob Slifka tossed the discus 159-3 to secure second place. Zach Young was fourth in the javelin with a heave of 185-5.
 
In the jumps, newcomer Andrew Troeh took second place with a season-best mark of 6-0¾.
 
The men's 4x100 relay, comprised of Jevon Cloy, Morris, Krutzikowsky and Jackson matched its season-best time, completing the one-lap race in 43.20 to take third place.
 
WOMEN
Kenzie Feinglas turned in a season-best effort in the 200 dash of 26.27, good for second place.
 
The women's 4x100 relay, featuring Hillary Connors, Rachelle Silis, Addie Klindt and Feinglas  locked up second place with a time of 49.38.
 
Jennifer Torres-Bermudez posted a season-best time in the 1,500 run, capturing fourth place in 4:53.32.
 
Logan Roberts placed fifth in the high jump with a mark of 5-0¼. Nara Van De Grift claimed third place in the triple jump with a mark of 32-9¾.
 
AHEAD
Linfield's heptathletes and decathletes are scheduled to compete in the Pacific Multis Thursday and Friday at Hanson Stadium in Forest Grove. The full squad is scheduled to compete at the same site on Saturday as part of the Pacific Invitational.
