WHY LINFIELD? I chose Linfield because of the beautiful campus and welcoming people. They offer the major I love and allows me to continue the sports I love.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? Being a student-athlete means improving myself physically along with mentally. I love the challenges and successes it helps me surpass.
WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? Being a student-athlete makes me unique because sports gives you many attributes that help you grow. It builds character and helps me strive as a person.
WHAT IS NEXT AFTER LINFIELD? My career focus is to work with athletes and Linfield gives me connections to put me on track and allows me to see first-hand what working with athletes is like.
WHAT IS THE BEST CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AT LINFIELD? The best Linfield class I’ve taken are all of my economics classes. I love the ideas and how they connect to groaning a business along with investing and saving money in a certain company.
WHEN NOT COMPETING IN SPORTS OR STUDYING FOR SCHOOL, I LIKE TO SPEND MY FREE TIME…Hanging out with friends, especially with sorority events. I also love coloring in my pastime as a stress reliever.
THE GREATEST LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN…Life, especially in sports isn’t always going to go your way but Linfield has helped me push past my hard times and learn to fall in love with the sports I play more and more every day and use them to release stress instead of build more.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR LINFIELD CAREER THUS FAR? Being a two sport-athlete has been the best part of my athletic experience so far, being able to have two teams has meant everything to me and the relationships I’ve grown. Being able to represent Linfield in more than one way has been so special to me and an opportunity not many people get and I’ll forever be thankful for that!
WHAT'S THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU'VE TAKEN AND WHY? The best class I have taken here is management of sports. It was my first look into the world of sports and showed me exactly why I want to spend my career in sports.Â
WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? Both my parents have been such an inspiration to me. After two major injuries they have supported every decision, I made and have encouraged me to keep competing even after a setback. They have always been there for me and watch my meets whenever they can!Â
THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I'VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN… Mental toughness. Track is a sport I have struggled with over the past 4 years and keeping a positive attitude can be hard at times. I’ve been able to find ways to calm my nerves and perform my best even after some tough seasons.
AS A LINFIELD-STUDENT ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE… Individually I try to get better every meet and push myself to be my best. As a team I want to be a support system and make everyone feel like they play a role in our team. Overall I love watching everyone compete but to see smiles on everyone’s face after a meet is all I want out of our team.
