Chase Bennett posted a new career-high with 22 points in Linfield's 82-73 win over Northwest on Saturday night at the Kristi Brodin Pavilion.
Cade Collins finished with 17 while
Joshua Ryan added 14.
Jackson Dupree chipped in nine points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Linfield shot 46 percent on 60 attempts and knocked down 9-25 shots from behind the arc. Linfield shot 85 percent on 20 free throw attempts.
Dominic Wilson led Northwest with 18 points while Caleb Whalen tallied 13. O'Shae Barquet (11) and Trent Williams (10) also finished in double figures for the Eagles. Northwest (2-9) shot 39 percent on 59 attempts and made 6-21 three-pointers.
Bennett's 16 first-half points led Linfield to a 45-30 halftime lead over Northwest. The Wildcats shot 50 percent from the field and made seven of their nine total shots from behind the arc in the opening half.
The 'Cats (5-6, 0-2 NWC) got up by as much as 21 in the first few minutes of the second half. The Eagles slowly cut the lead to within three before Linfield pulled away again. Steady free throw shooting down the stretch secured the 'Cats win.
