FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Linfield scored once in each half to beat Pacific on a rainy Friday night in Forest Grove. The Wildcats snapped a four-game losing streak with the 2-0 victory over the Boxers.
The 'Cats finished with 10 shots, six on goal, five corner kicks and nine fouls.
Emma Mulligan tallied four saves.
Jocelyn Jacobs scored her third goal of the season while
Amalia Tufts netted her second.
Anna Dazey and
Riley Omonaka were each credited with an assist.
Reece Jones and
Sidra Griffin each played the full 90 minutes for Linfield.
Jacobs opened the scoring for the Wildcats in the 12th minute of the match punching in an assist from Dazey. Linfield was more aggressive in the first half doubling the Boxers' shot total and holding a 1-0 lead at the break.
The Wildcats and Boxers were even on shots in the second half, however Tufts doubled the lead on a breakaway score in the 72nd mintue.
Pacific (4-13-1, 3-11-1) finished with seven shots, four on goal, one corner kick and seven fouls. Gwendolyn Saing and Julia Fetcher led the offense with two shots each. Goalkeeper Kylie Pascual finished with three saves.
