McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Emotions were high as Linfield celebrated their five seniors on senior day at the Linfield Soccer Complex on Sunday morning. The Wildcats battled for 90 minutes, but the visiting Loggers scored twice in each half to win 4-0.
The Wildcats (6-8-6, 4-7-5) finished with six shots, four on goal, three corner kicks and seven fouls.
Riley Omonaka received Linfield's only yellow card.
Emma Mulligan tallied five saves on 17 shots faced.
Kamahie Samudio led the offense with two shots on goal.
Mia Curtaz and
Reese Jones each added a shot on goal. Jones played the full 90 minutes for Linfield.
The Loggers started aggressively combing for seven shots in the first 20 minutes. Ava Cholakin and Sienna Kloss each broke through for a goal building an early 2-0 lead for Puget Sound.
Zoe Witter and Cholakin added two more goals in the second half to extend the Puget Sound lead. The Wildcats had four shots on goal in the second 45 but couldn't find a goal.
Puget Sound (13-5-2, 11-3-2) finished with 17 shots, nine on goal, five corner kicks and eight fouls.
