McMINNVILLE, Ore. –
Mia Curtaz's converted penalty kick in the 88th minute gave Linfield the 1-0 victory over Pacific on Sunday afternoon at the Linfield Soccer Complex. The Wildcats grabbed their first victory over the Boxers since 2020 and moved to 5-3-4 and 3-2-3 in Northwest Conference play.
The Wildcats combined for nine shots, four shots on goal, three corner kicks and nine fouls.
Emilee Miller recorded three saves and her third clean sheet on the season. Curtaz led the offense with a goal and two total shots on goal.
Jenna Stanley led the team in minutes with 74.
Bella Hanna received the game's only yellow card.
Pacific controlled the possession in the opening 20 minutes but Linfield held a slight edge in shots (5-3) by the end of the first half.
The second half, similar to the first was tightly contested and the Wildcats again led in shots (4-1). Curtaz's game-winning goal came in the final three minutes.
The Boxers (2-9-0, 1-7-0) finished with four shots, three on goal, seven corner kicks and 13 fouls. Goalkeeper Elle Hamilton finished with three saves while three different Pacific players recorded a shot on goal.
