MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield played its final home match of the season on Saturday night against George Fox at Ted Wilson Gymnasium in McMinnville. The visiting Bruins won the first set and rode that momentum to a straight-set win 11-25, 23-25, 13-25. The Wildcats recognized seniors
Marina Erosa and
Claire Johnson.
The Wildcats combined for 27 kills, on a. 099 hitting percentage, 41 digs, 27 assists, two serving aces and two blocks.
Erosa led the Wildcats in kills with eight while
Nora Myre was close behind with six. Johnson tallied 24 assists and
Paige Richards paced the defense with 11 digs.
Olivia Jacobsen and Taylor DeKoning had five kills each in the first set for the Bruins en route to an opening set win. 14 set kills for Linfield, including five from Erosa kept the Wildcats close but a 6-2 run at the end of the second set lifted the Bruins to a win.
George Fox completed the straight-set victory behind 18 set kills and another substantial hitting percentage (.405).
George Fox (15-6, 11-3) totaled 48 kills, on a .356 hitting percentage, 54 digs, 43 assists and six serving aces.
DeKoning led the Bruins in kills with 14 while Addison Robertson and Kassandra Mendenhall were right behind with nine each. Kennedy Kibby finished with 27 assists and Piper Harrop totaled 16 digs.
