Linfield's NW Media Fest returns to McMinnville this week for its second year. With events for both the Linfield community and the greater public, the NW Media Fests will feature panels and presentations with speakers from throughout the media world.
Â
Thursday, Oct. 25 will feature several presentations revolving around sports media as a part of the festival's Journalism Day. Members of the Linfield athletics community, particularly student-athletes interested in a career in sports, are encouraged to attend.
Â
One presentation that is particularly geared toward student-athletes is the final event of the day – "Getting It Right: Telling Your Story Through Social Media." This presentation will discuss building a digital brand and persona as an athlete and how to interact with sports media.
Â
Featured guests from the sports media industry include photographer Joey Terrill, USA Today's Lindsay Schnell and KOIN-TV's Brenna Greene.
Â
