McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield cruised to victory in its first meeting against Lewis & Clark. In the second meeting of the season on Saturday afternoon at the Linfield Soccer Complex. The Wildcats again controlled the match from start to finish to claim their third victory in a row 5-1 win over the visiting Pioneers.
The Wildcats (4-8-3, 4-5-2) finished with a season-high 22 shots, six on goal, eight corner kicks and 14 fouls.
Colby Reese had a relatively light day totaling one save.
Seamus Miller scored three goals and tallied an assist to lead the Wildcats offense.
Owen Schoner and
Johann Singh Sanchez scored the other goals for Linfield.
Linfield's attack put pressure on Lewis & Clark early. Singh Sanchez and Miller both found the back of the net in the first 10 minutes of the match. Miller netted his second goal in the 33rd minute growing the Linfield lead to 3-0 before halftime.
Miller scored his third goal just a minute into the second half with
Sam Haynes accounting for his second assist. Schoner increased the lead to five in the 69th minute.
Lewis & Clark got one goal back, less than a minute later coming off the foot of Beno Boda.
The Pioneers (0-15-0, 0-11-0) finished with five shots, two on goal, three corner kicks and six fouls. Nadav Dicovski led the offense with two shots and Keahi Meredith totaled one save.
