McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield started strong and grabbed its second victory of the week over visiting George Fox in the Linfield Soccer Complex on Saturday evening.
E.J. Sablan's goal marks his fourth score in as many matches and
Sid Kosaris scored his third goal of the week for the Wildcats who came through in a 2-0 win.
The Wildcats (3-8-3, 3-5-2) finished with 13 shots, five on goal, 10 corner kicks and 11 fouls.
Colby Reese finished with three saves while
Evan Stafford,
Wolf Pfaeffle,
Angel Hernandez,
Ross Vargo and
Patrick Moes all played the full match for Linfield.
Kosaris' sixth goal of the season in the 34th minute came off a rebound and gave Linfield the advantage in a tightly contested first half.
Sablan doubled the lead in the 59th minute after getting the assist from Kosaris. The match became more physical in the second half as George Fox was given three yellow cards and Linfield received two.
George Fox (3-9-1, 2-6-1) finished with seven shots, three on goal, four corner kicks and 7 fouls. Keoni Gavino recorded three saves. Cody DeMarino was ejected after receiving two yellow cards.
