CALDWELL, Idaho – Two second-half goals for The College of Idaho lifted the Yotes to a 2-0 victory over the Linfield men's soccer team Monday morning at Simplot Stadium.
The Yotes outshot the Wildcats 11-5 with five shots on goal. The 'Cats fired off just three shots in the first half, none of which landed on goal. That allowed opposing goalkeeper Tom Baynard-Smith to not have to make a save in the period.
After a scoreless first half, Eric Hornung opened the scoring in the 49
th minute. Caik Silva added some insurance for the Yotes with another goal in the 60
th minute. Both goals were unassisted.
Cameron Gaines led Linfield with two shots. He and
Sid Kosaris had the team's only two shots on goal.
Logan Clizer,
Angel Hernandez and
Marques Herrera-Kuehn all played the full 90 minutes.
Peyton Frazier played the entire match in goal, making three saves to Baynard-Smith's two.

Linfield returns home to host La Verne at 11 a.m. on Sunday. They will then play the newly reinstated Lewis & Clark men's soccer team in a nonconference contest on Sept. 12 in Portland.
