Wildcats eye first NWC win against Bruins, Boxers

THE RECORDS
Linfield enters another week of Northwest Conference play at 1-5-1 overall and 0-1-1 in NWC play. George Fox sits at 1-3-2 overall with a 0-0-2 NWC mark. Pacific enters the week at 0-5-1 overall record (0-2-0 NWC).

LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
Linfield lost 6-0 to defending champion Pacific Lutheran. The Wildcats came back the next day to tie Puget Sound 1-1, the Loggers' lone score coming on an own goal. Marques Herrera-Kuehn scored his first career goal against UPS off an assist by his co-captain Logan Clizer. Sid Kosaris turned in career highs with nine shots and five shots on goal. Henry Boudreaux has started in four matches in goal. He made five saves against the Loggers, including a match-saver on a penalty kick in the 57th minute.
 
GEORGE FOX AT A GLANCE
George Fox left eastern Washington with a pair of ties to open NWC play, posting scores of 0-0 at Whitman and 2-2 at Whitworth. Eugene Peltier leads the attack with three goals while also contributing an assist. Robert Rodarte has two goals and an assist. Defender Elijah Soon and goalkeeper Cade Matsumoto lead the Bruins with 540 minutes played. Matsumoto has played every minute in goal, making 20 saves to go with a 1.67 goals against average.

PACIFIC AT A GLANCE
Pacific is still searching for its first victory of the season, taking one-goal losses at Whitworth (2-1) and Whitman (1-0) to open NWC play. The Boxers have been outscored 14-3 this season. Jericho Lara, Jayden Adkison and Nico Allen each have a goal to lead the team. Lara also has an assist. Brodie Buchert leads the Boxers with 515 minutes played. Zach Aderinto is 0-5-1 in just under 507 minutes in goal. He has 26 saves and a 2.13 goals against average.

HISTORY
Linfield leads the all-time series with George Fox with a 31-20-3 record. The Wildcats are 18-9-1 in Newberg. They are averaging 1.83 goals per match. The Bruins won four of the last five meetings. The 'Cats last beat their cross-county rivals 1-0 in double overtime during the COVID-shifted spring 2021 season. The Bruins swept the season series last fall, taking both matches by scores of 2-1.

Linfield owns an all-time record of 22-29-6 against Pacific. The Wildcats are 14-9-4 against the Boxers at home. The 'Cats and Boxers tied four times in their last nine meetings, including the last match, a 2-2 draw in McMinnville on Oct. 23, 2021.
