CALDWELL, Idaho – Linfield followed Northwest Conference play with an 8-1 loss to the College of Idaho Friday night at Wolfe Field.
The Wildcats scored their lone run of the game in the sixth inning when
Cage Hardy reached base on an error by the Yote shortstop. The error score
Mike LaVigne from third base.
The Yotes scored three runs in the third inning and picked up another in the fifth. They put up a two-spot in the sixth and eighth innings to down the 'Cats by seven on their home field.
LaVigne and
Jacob Campos provided all the hits for the 'Cats. LaVigne went 2 for 4 with a run while Campos went 3 for 4.
Bodey Smith drew three walks in the game. Jonah Hultberg, Kirby Robertson and Ben Gaff all collected two hits for the Yotes.
John Over took the loss to fall to 1-4 on the season. He allowed four earned runs on seven hits while striking out two.
Gage Mack went the rest of the way, allowing four runs, two earned, on four hits.

Game 2 between the 'Cats (20-18) and Yotes (27-25) is Saturday at 2 p.m. Linfield's season will end on Sunday in the series finale.
