CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Linfield baseball team finished with two hits while Pomona-Pitzer scored 15 runs on as many hits to drop the Wildcats 15-1 and claim the series win Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Pomona-Pitzer scored early on a three-run home run to left field in the first inning by Isaac Kim. The Sagehens put up four runs in the third inning and three more in the fourth to already put the game on ice. They scored a combined five more runs in the seventh and eighth frames to seal the deal on a 14-run win.
David Bedrosian went 5 for 6 with a run and six RBI to lead the Sagehens at the plate. He had an RBI double in the third inning, a two-run single in the fourth, and RBI single in the seventh and a two-run double in the eighth. Caleb Millikan went 3 for 4 with a walk and three runs while Kim went 2 for 3 with a walk and his first-inning homer.

Bodey Smith got the start in center field on Saturday, finishing 1 for 3 at the plate with a walk as the leadoff man. Senior
Wyatt Smith had the other hit of the day for the 'Cats as he also went 1 for 3 while seeing action behind the plate and at first base.
Pomona-Pitzer starter Brett Super earned the win to improve to 2-0 on the season. He allowed one unearned run on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts in six innings pitched. Joe Williams took care of the 'Cats in the seventh while Gabe Garcia shut the door in the eighth and ninth innings.
Sophomore lefty
John Over took the loss for the 'Cats. He tossed three innings, allowing eight runs, seven earned, on eight hits with a strikeout. As a unit, the Linfield staff walked nine batters and hit two.

Sunday's series finale between the 'Cats (2-3) and Sagehens (5-1) will start at noon. The 'Cats will then return home to open Northwest Conference play, hosting Puget Sound on Feb. 19-20 at Roy Helser Stadium.
