WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Linfield volleyball opened its road trip with a three-set loss to Whitman Friday night at the Sherwood Center.
The Blues won by scores of 25-21, 25-14 and 25-20 to hand the Wildcats their fourth straight loss. The Blues finished with 37 kills on a .257 hitting percentage while forcing 19 Linfield errors.
Christina Boxberger led Whitman with a match-high 11 kills on a .444 hitting percentage. Kenzie Martinez fell just short of double digits with nine kills to go with her 12 digs. Jamie Bartok had 14 digs while Teia Magaoay had 33 assists.
The 'Cats ended the night with 24 kills, 23 assists and 47 digs.
Marina Erosa led the Linfield attack with seven kills.
Raelynn Hammock contributed six kills and 10 digs.
Paige Richards finished tied with Bartok for the match high with 14 digs.

The 'Cats (6-8, 2-5 NWC) will go head-to-head with the first-place Whitworth Pirates (12-3, 6-1 NWC) at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Whitworth Fieldhouse.
