Linfield set to take on No. 10 Willamette in Salem

THE RECORDS
Linfield enters the final week of the first half of Northwest Conference play in a tie for third place with Whitworth at 4-6-1 overall with a 3-2-1 NWC mark. The Wildcats and Pirates have 10 points apiece. Willamette, ranked No. 10 in the latest United Soccer Coaches national poll, sits atop the NWC standings at 8-0-2 overall and 6-0-0 in NWC play.
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats extended their win streak to three matches in a 1-0 win at Whitman. It was their third straight 1-0 shutout. That streak was ended in a 3-0 loss at Whitworth the following afternoon.
 
Sid Kosaris scored the game-winning goal against the Blues. It was his team-leading fourth goal of the season. He leads the NWC with three game-winners. Seamus Miller and Patrick Moes are right behind Kosaris with two goals apiece. Cameron Gaines leads the 'Cats with a pair of assists.
 
Angel Hernandez leads the team with 925 minutes played. Miller, Logan Clizer and Evan Stafford have started in all 11 matches. Henry Boudreaux is 3-3-1 in his eight starts in goal. All three wins came in shutouts, ranking him No. 2 in the NWC.
 
WILLAMETTE AT A GLANCE
The Bearcats beat Whitworth 2-1 on Saturday before winning 3-2 against Whitman on Sunday. They are averaging 3.2 goals and 15.9 shots per game to go with a 1.10 goals against average.
 
Pierce Gallaway and Jett Starr are already up to six goals on the year, which are tied for second in the NWC. Sean Kim has added four goals. Drew Alexander and Krisna LaFrance lead the team and rank tied for third in the conference with four assists each. Pierluca Carnovale is 8-0-2 in goal with two shutouts, a .718 save percentage and a 1.12 goals against average.
 
THE SERIES
The all-time series between Linfield and Willamette stands at an even 27-27-2. The 'Cats are 15-14-1 in Salem. They are averaging 1.77 goals per match in the series. Linfield's last win over Willamette came in a 2-1 victory in 2018 in Salem. The Bearcats have won six of the last seven meetings since then, the seventh match being a scoreless tie in 2019. The Bearcats won both meetings in 2021 by scores of 4-0 and 1-0.
