McMINNVILLE, Ore. – A win on Senior Day is special, but it feels so much better when you do it against your cross-county rival.
The Linfield Wildcats picked up their third win in Northwest Conference play with a 2-0 shutout of the George Fox Bruins on a misty Saturday afternoon at the Linfield Soccer and Lacrosse Complex.
The Wildcats recognized nine players on Senior Day prior to the start of the match. Those departing seniors are
Megan Sweeney,
Makenna Blix,
McCall Bennion,
Callie Kawaguchi,
Raylynn Bucher,
Izzy Chauls,
Emma Sammartino,

While Saturday was about the celebration of the senior class, a pair of sophomores left their marks as
Kamahie Samudio scored two goals off assists by
Anna Dazey.
Samudio's first goal came in the 32
nd minute. Dazey led Samudio with a pass to the top of the box. Samudio put a couple good touches on the ball before firing it into the left side of the net from just outside the six-yard mark. She netted her third goal of the season in the 69
th minute, connecting with a pass from Dazey once again and winning a 1-on-1 battle with George Fox backup goalkeeper Zirce Valeriano.
Linfield was outshot 15-8 but put four shots on goal to the Bruins' three. The 'Cats held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Samudio notched her two goals in 34 minutes off the bench. Her three goals on the season are tied for third on the team with
Ruby Lacktrup. The two assists were Dazey's first of the season.
Bella Hanna matched Samudio's two shots in 90 minutes played.
Jenna Stanley also played the full 90 on the backline.
Alexa Fritz improved to a solid 3-1-2 in goal in her freshman campaign. She made three saves against the Bruins to earn her first collegiate shutout.
