Annual Tacoma trip awaits fifth-place Wildcats

THE RECORDS
Linfield enters the week still right in the middle of the pack, sitting in fifth place with 13 points. The Wildcats own a 5-10-1 overall record with a 4-6-1 Northwest Conference mark. Puget Sound (7-5-4, 3-5-2 NWC) sits right under Linfield in sixth place with 11 points. Pacific Lutheran enters the week in second place with 24 points. The Lutes are 14-3-0 overall and 8-3-0 in NWC play.
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats are averaging 0.94 goals and 11.6 shots per match, putting 46.5 percent of their shots on goal. Ronan Hodge scored his second goal of the season in a 2-1 win at Pacific on Friday while Sid Kosaris notched his team-leading sixth goal against the Boxers. Kosaris leads the NWC with 28 shots on goal. Seamus Miller is second on the team with 32 shots. Angel Hernandez leads the 'Cats with 1,363 minutes played. Henry Boudreaux is 4-7-1 in 13 starts in goal. He has 50 saves on the season with a 1.92 goals against average.

The Loggers went 0-2 in eastern Washington last week, losing 3-0 at Whitworth and 2-0 at Whitman. Stuart Methner and Graham Hall lead the attack with four goals apiece. Methner is also tied for the team lead with Jake Aigner with three assists. Methner and Diego Alvaro both have 18 shots on the season. Ryan Saunders has played every minute in goal for UPS, posting a 7-5-4 record with an NWC-leading five shutouts and 82 saves. He owns a .804 save percentage and a 1.25 GAA.
 
PACIFIC LUTHERAN AT A GLANCE
The Lutes lead the NWC with 50 goals, 46 assists and 146 points. They are averaging 3.13 goals per match, outscoring opponents 50-17. Trevor Thompson and Craig Johnson lead the team and are tied for second in the NWC with 10 goals each. Thompson leads the NWC with 28 points thanks to his eight assists. Robby Guyer is first in the NWC with nine assists. Chris Lozano has eight goals and three assists on the season. His 47 shots are tied for No. 2 in the NWC. Nicholas Gaston is 11-3-0 in goal with a .794 save percentage. His 1.02 GAA leads all NWC goalkeepers.
 
HISTORY
Linfield is 11-36-4 in the all-time series with Puget Sound. The 'Cats are 6-19-1 in Tacoma. The 'Cats are looking for their first win over the Loggers since their 2-0 home victory in 2010. The two teams tied 1-1 in their first meeting of the 2022 season on Sept. 18 in McMinnville.
 
Linfield owns an all-time record of 19-29-3 against Pacific Lutheran. Ten of those wins came in Parkland. The longest win streak for the 'Cats was 10 straight matches between the 1999 and 2003 seasons. The last time the 'Cats beat the Lutes came in a 3-1 win on the road during the 2012 season. The Lutes won 6-0 in the first meeting of the season on Sept. 17 in McMinnville.
