Boxers, Loggers up next for Linfield volleyball

THE RECORDS
Linfield enters the week with an 8-11 overall record and a 4-8 Northwest Conference mark. Pacific sits in sixth place at 11-8 overall and an even 6-6 in NWC play. Puget Sound is in a four-way tie for first place with Whitworth, George Fox and Willamette with an 8-4 NWC record (11-9 overall).
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats are looking to bounce back from losses to Pacific Lutheran and George Fox last week. They rank third in the NWC with 1.87 blocks per set. Raelynn Hammock's 3.48 kills per set rank third in the NWC while her 4.07 points per set are second. Ellie Mead totaled nine blocks last week, bringing her season total to 68. Her 1.11 blocks per set are good for No. 2 in the NWC. Mead is second on the team to Hammock with 2.61 kills per set while Marina Erosa is averaging 2.40 kills and 1.62 digs per set.
 
PACIFIC AT A GLANCE
The Boxers split last week, beating Lewis & Clark in four sets at home before losing 3-2 to Puget Sound in Tacoma. Mara Murphy leads the NWC with 313 kills and 4.41 kills per set. Her 36 aces also lead the team. Charlotte Powell leads the Boxers with a .303 hitting percentage. Alison Brown is second on the team with 178 kills. Shaianne Cambra is up to 603 assists on the season while Danica Nelson has 326 digs. 
 
PUGET SOUND AT A GLANCE
The Loggers hosted a pair of five-set matches last week, losing to George Fox on Friday and coming back on Saturday to top Pacific. They rank second in the NWC in blocks per set (2.06), third in hitting percentage (.178) and fourth in kills per set (11.56). Avery Allemann is just under 200 kills on the season with 190 on a team-leading .267 hitting percentage, which ranks No. 7 in the NWC. She also ranks second with 83 blocks. Logan Winn is averaging 8.48 assists per set while Chloe Akiona-Bannan has 302 digs.
 
HISTORY
Linfield is 39-19 in the all-time series with Pacific. That record includes a 19-7 mark at home. The Boxers have taken control of the series in recent years, riding an 11-match win streak against the 'Cats. The last win for the 'Cats came in three sets back in 2016. Pacific won 3-0 in the first meeting of the 2022 season on Sept. 28 in Forest Grove.
 
Linfield and Puget Sound have met 55 times. The Loggers claimed 48 of those matches. Three of the Wildcats' seven wins in the series came in Tacoma. The Loggers have won 11 straight matches against the 'Cats. The 'Cats last won in a five-set contest in Tacoma during the 2015 season. The Loggers won the first meeting of the season, winning 3-1 on Oct. 1 at Ted Wilson Gymnasium.
