Kiltow paces men and Torres Bermudez leads women in Estacada

ESTACADA, Ore. – Bradley Kiltow set the pace for the Linfield men and Jennifer Torres Bermudez was the Wildcat women's leader in a crowded field of competitors Saturday at the Lewis & Clark Invitational held at Milo McIver State Park.
 
The massive meet, featuring 30 men's teams and 24 women's squads, was the final tuneup for the Wildcats prior to the Northwest Conference Championships, on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Meriwether Golf Course in Hillsboro.
 
MEN
Kiltow turned in perhaps his finest collegiate effort, placing 124th among 345 runners. His time of 27:04.7 was just seconds faster than teammates Alex Oathout (132nd in 27:10.0) and Calvin Cahill (134th in 27:10.9).
 
Also racing for Linfield on Saturday were Evan Kern, 218th in 28:44.1, Kai Szostak, 242nd in 29:18, Conner Dooley, 247th in 29:23.0, John Christian, 263rd in 29:56.4, and Brendan Perez, 291st in 30:45.0.
 
WOMEN
Torres Bermudez clocked 23:41.1 to place 71st in a field of 261 athletes. Makayla Erickson was 93rd in 24:18.8 and Mary Sturley placed 115th in 24:59.6.
 
Linfield's other competitors Saturday included Abby Grebisz, 164th in 26:10.7, Holly Riley, 165th in 26:12.8, Anna Frazier, 166th in 26:12.8, and Amber Chaffee, 213th in 28:13.3.
 
COMING UP
Linfield will compete in two weeks against its eight Northwest Conference sister schools at the NWC Championships. The first race is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Meriwether GC.
