Biography

SOPHOMORE
Letterwinner.
NWC Scholar-Athlete.
Turned in top 6K time of 21:09.5 at the Western Oregon Ash Creek Invitational on Sept. 10.
Raced a season-best 8K at Willamette’s Repeat Mile Run on Oct. 16 in 29:27.0.
Placed 71st at the NWC Championships on Oct. 30 with a time of 30:34.6.
 
POPE JOHN PAUL II HIGH SCHOOL
Four-time letterwinner in cross country and track and field.
Two-time All-1B SeaTac Region honoree.
Two-time runner-up at the state championship race.
Finished as a runner-up in state championship in track & field.
Raised his PR in every race during senior season.
Graduated as the Valedictorian.
Received the highest honors.
 
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Majoring in mathematics and physics.
Son of Antoinette and Joseph Perez.
Also competes in track and field at Linfield.
 
WHY LINFIELD? I chose Linfield because I have to opportunity to compete on an NCAA Division III cross country program, the undergraduate research opportunities and the campus being reasonably close to home.
 
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? Being a student-athlete means I will challenge myself, grow strong bonds with my team and learn to budget my time with other things.
 
WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? I am mentally strong and can bring good attitude, effort and persistence to unfavorable conditions.
