McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Linfield women's soccer team kept up with one of the top teams in NAIA's Cascade Collegiate Conference, but the Wildcats fell short in a 1-0 overtime loss to The College of Idaho on Sunday afternoon.
Lily Schlake broke the silence for the Yotes when she scored the golden goal in the 98
th minute off an assist by Payton Anderson. Anderson crossed the ball from deep and Schlake headed in the game-winner.
The Yotes controlled the ball for most of the match, putting up 22 shots and 13 shots on goal while holding the 'Cats to six shots, four on goal. Schlake led the Yotes with six shots and four shots on goal.

Callie Kawaguchi led the team with two shots, one on goal, in 29 minutes.
Senior
Alyssa Bakkensen played the entire match, making 12 saves before allowing the golden goal. Bakkensen has 36 saves, an .837 save percentage and a 1.62 goals against average on the season.

The 'Cats concluded their non-conference schedule and will open conference play at home, hosting Willamette at noon on Saturday, Sept. 18.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, proof of vaccination is required for all spectators at Linfield home events.
