MCMINNVILLE, Ore. ā In an exhibition between two Northwest Conference teams, the Pacific Boxers defeated the Linfield Wildcats, 1-0 on Wednesday evening at the Linfield Soccer & Lacrosse Complex.

This was the first non-conference match for the Boxers and third for the Wildcats. The two teams will meet twice during the NWC regular season, at Pacific on March 3 and at Linfield on March 7.

The Boxers had 13 shots in the match, the Wildcats had nine. Both had four shots on goal, all were saved by the Boxers, while the Wildcats stopped three.

Pacific's Maliah Jobe scored the only goal of the match in the 77
th minute, on a pass from Katelyn Volchok that came right by the net and Jobe cleared it in.

Both teams split goalkeepers, Pacific had Catherine Corbett play the first half, making two saves and Saya Brown came in at halftime and saved two as well. For Linfield,
Emma Mulligan played the first 70 minutes, making two saves.
Erin Isbister played the final 20 minutes and also had a save.

Catalina Alvarado and Emma Gusman were the shot leaders for the Boxers with two a piece, while Linfield's shot leaders:
Laura Hoover and
Ava Dumler also had two.

The Wildcats are in the midst of a four-matches in five-days stretch, Wednesday's match was the second in as many days. Linfield hosts Warner Pacific on Friday at 4 p.m. and wrap-up non-conference play with an exhibition against Lewis & Clark on Saturday at 3 p.m.
