McMINNVILLE, Ore. –
Jill Leroux scored her first goal of the season to tie it up, but the Linfield women's soccer team fell to Puget Sound, 2-1, Sunday afternoon at Linfield University's Soccer and Lacrosse Complex.
The sophomore midfielder scored the equalizer in the 29
th minute off an assist by junior forward
Laney Green. Green sent the ball through the defense to give Leroux the good look.
Leroux's goal came just three minutes after the Loggers' Kylee Roath scored the opening goal on a header in the 26
th, assisted by Tess Carden on a corner kick. It was Roath's fourth goal of the fall. Carden then scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 45
th minute, assisted by Kalina Cordero. The goal came just 15 seconds before halftime.
The Loggers finished with 15 shots and eight shots on goal to the Wildcats' four shots, two on goal. The 'Cats registered a pair of shots in each half. The Loggers created opportunities with six corner kicks.

Ashley Guldager all played 90 minutes for the 'Cats. Senior
Alyssa Bakkensen played the entire match in goal and made six saves.
NEXT
The 'Cats fell to 1-7-2 overall and 0-5-1 in Northwest Conference play. The Loggers improved to 9-0-1 overall with a 5-0-1 NWC mark.
The 'Cats will hit the road next week, playing at Whitman on Saturday and at Whitworth on Sunday. Both matches kick off at noon.
LINFIELD COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
All individuals (age 12 and over) entering any athletics venue must provide proof of vaccination along with photo identification. Since all Linfield faculty, staff and students have completed this task in order to be on campus this fall, the Linfield individual must simply show their current Linfield ID.
Masks must be worn by all spectators at all times. Participants, including players, coaches, support staff and media on the sidelines, must wear masks throughout the duration of all athletic events, both indoor and outdoor, and during pregame and postgame activities.
