Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Wildcats fall 1-0 to Boxers in midweek matchup

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – With the elements playing a factor, it seemed as if one shot was going to decide the match. That shot belonged to Pacific as the Boxers took down the Linfield women's soccer team, 1-0, Wednesday night at the Linfield Soccer and Lacrosse Complex.

Senior Savannah Grosse's first goal of the season couldn't have come at a better time as she fired in what proved to be the game-winning goal for the Boxers in the 71st minute after the Wildcats failed to clear the ball from the box.

Grosse finished tied for the team high with two shots, both on goal, in 67 minutes off the bench. Junior Emily Rutkowski also had two shots, one on goal, as the Boxers outshot the 'Cats 8-7 with five shots on goal.

The Linfield youth took initiative on offense. The 'Cats had one shot on goal, registered by sophomore midfielder Riley Omonaka. Omonaka finished with a match-high three shots in 33 minutes off the bench. Freshmen Lili Lucas, Sidra Griffin, Jordan Stoner and Kamahie Samudio had the other Linfield shots.

Sophomore Emma Mulligan played the entire 90 minutes in goal, making four saves. She is 2-5-0 in goal with 38 saves and a 2.12 goals against average.

NEXT
