Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Wildcats shut out by first-place Lutes

TACOMA, Wash. – The Linfield men's soccer team ended its Tacoma road trip with a 5-0 loss at first-place Pacific Lutheran on Sunday afternoon at East Field.
 
Senior Archie Caldwell and junior Cris Lozano both registered a goal and an assist in the shutout. Caldwell scored his fourth goal of the season, assisted by Lozano, to open the scoring in the 38th minute. Lozano notched the Lutes' second goal in the 60th minute off an assist by senior Ryan Griffith. Caldwell assisted on the fifth goal of the match, scored by freshman Trevor Thompson in the 75th.
 
The third goal for the Lutes was an own goal by the Wildcats in the 66th. Senior Keeton Heggerness scored the fourth goal just seconds later off an assist by junior Robby Guyer.
 
The Lutes outshot the Wildcats 34-8 with 14 shots on goal while the 'Cats had three shots on goal. Junior forward Connor Heintz and senior forward Dayton Farrow led the 'Cats with two shots apiece. Both of Farrow's shots were on goal.
 
Seven 'Cats played the entire 90 minutes. Junior Julian Inches played the full match in goal, making 10 saves. He leads the Northwest Conference with 5.73 saves per game.

Linfield dropped to 1-11-1 with a 0-8-1 NWC mark with the loss. The 'Cats will host Pacific on Saturday before playing at George Fox on Sunday.
