The Linfield University Athletics program received high placement in the recently released college rankings compiled by niche.com.
 
The rankings confirm what many have believe to be true: Linfield offers one of the best and most well-rounded university athletic programs not only among small colleges in the Northwest but also among all NCAA Division II and III and NAIA institutions in the United States.
 
Linfield's 21-sport athletics program is ranked No. 1 among private colleges in Oregon, and No. 3 in the state overall, trailing only major universities Oregon and Oregon State.
 
Among 1,401 colleges and universities nationally, Linfield is ranked No. 125 in the category of "Best College Athletics In America." It is rated eighth overall in the same category among Division III programs.
 
Linfield is ranked No. 2 among private colleges in the category for "Best Colleges for Student-Athletes in Oregon," trailing only the University of Portland.
 
Under the heading of "Best Colleges for Student-Athletes, Linfield is slotted No. 337 in a field of 1,380 comparably sized schools. Linfield is No. 2 among fellow Northwest Conference members.
