'Cats improve to 6-1 in NWC play

McMINNVILLE, ORE. – On a rainy day in Maxwell Field the Wildcats looked to improve to 6-1 in Northwest Conference play with a win over the Whitman Blues. The 'Cats did just that as they took down the Blues 20-15.

FIRST HALF
Whitman started out on top as the scored the first goal of the game. The Wildcats answered though scoring the next five goals. Gabriella Moe scored two of the five Linfield goals, while Bethany Shade, Maia Rezoski, and Jenna Hessel add the other three. The Blues cut the Wildcats lead to 5-2, but Linfield came back and scored four more goals to increase their lead to 9-2. Whitman however scored four unanswered goals of their own and headed into half time down 6-9.

SECOND HALF
Just like the first half the Blues scored first, but Jenna Hessel and Maia Rezoski would answer with two Wildcat goals. Whitman tacked on one more goal and made it 8-11 before Josie Duey and Rezoski added two more Linfield. The Widlcats and Blues went back and forth trading goals but Whitman finally broke through and scored three straight goals to make it a one point game. However, the Wildcats were persistent and answered with four straight goals to end the game and pick up the victory.
