Game Recap: Lacrosse |

Wildcats outlast the Eagles

LISLE, ILL. – Looking to bounce back in game two of the Wildcats spring break trip to the Midwest; Linfield traveled to Benedictine University for a non-conference match up. The Wildcats won a thrilling fashion as the scored with four seconds left to play and secure the victory over the Eagles 14-13.

FIRST HALF
Jenna Hessel started the Wildcats out on top as she scored the first goal of the game, her goal was followed by two Benedictine goals and a lead change. Linfield's Maia Rezoski managed to find the back of the net and tie things up at two goals each. The Eagles managed to grab two more goals before the Wildcats scored three goals and took the lead back for the first time since the opening goal. Once again thought the Eagles would not go away and answered with two more goals. Bethany Shade picked up her third goal of the game which was followed by a Josie Duey and a Jenna Hessel goal. Benedictine would score the final goal of the half, but the Wildcats would still lead 8-7.

SECOND HALF
The Wildcats came out ready to play in the second half as Alex Jensen scored two goals to start the second. Benedictine tried to cut the Wildcats momentum with a goal of their own, however Gabriella Moe and Jensen would add to more Linfield goals. The Eagles went on to score five-straight goals and take the lead away from the Wildcats for the first time since half way through the first half. Maia Rezoski was spectacular though as she tied the game up at 13-13 with 43 seconds left to play and then won the game for the Wildcats as she found the back of the net with just six seconds left in the game.
