McMINNVILLE, ORE. – Hoping to pick up their first win before the Wildcats start Northwest Conference play, Linfield hosted Ohio Wesleyan at Maxwell Field on March 14
th in a night game. The 'Cats fell to the Bishops 9-15 in their first ever match up. Ohio Wesleyan improves to 6-1 on the season and concluded their west coast trip. The Bishops also traveled to Puget Sound and Pacific where they won both games.
Linfield totaled 27 shots with 22 of them being on goal compared to Ohio Wesleyan's 30 shots and 26 on goal. The Wildcats' goalies combined for 11 saves on the evening.
First Half
In the opening two-minutes of play the Bishops managed to score which was followed by a quick score by
Molly Herrera. However, OWU would come back and score three more goals and keep a steady lead the rest of the game.
Bethany Shade cut the Bishops momentum as she picked up the Wildcats second goal of the game. OWU then answered with three more goals before
Nathaly Sanchez picked up a goal for the 'Cats. The Bishops would pick up their eight goal with just four minutes left to play, but the Wildcats would get the last score of the half from Shade as she picked up her second goal of the game.
Second Half
Ohio Wesleyan picked up right where they left off as they scored the first goal of the second half and increased their lead to 9-4.
Jenna Hessel picked up her first goal of the game with 26 minutes left to play to bring the 'Cats back within four goals. Unfortunately, the Bishops tacked on three more goals before the Wildcats' Shade could get her third goal on the night. OWU grabbed one more goal before Shade and Hessel got back-to-back goals and brought the Wildcats back within five goals. However, the Bishops came back with two more goals and pushed their lead to seven.
Josie Duey recorded her first goal of her career off of a free position and was the last goal of the game.

th as they travel to Spokane, Washington to take on Whitworth at 1:00 p.m.
