TACOMA, Wash. – Facing the second best team in the Northwest Conference on the road, the Linfield Wildcats fell 5-0 to the Puget Sound Loggers on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats had both of their shots on goal early in the game, but both were saved. The Loggers scored their first of the game in the 38
th minute.
Puget Sound added another goal in the 42
nd minute to take a big lead and scored three in the second half to hand Linfield its largest defeat of the season.
Madi Reimer made four saves as the starting goalkeeper, while
Alyssa Bakkensen made one save in relief.
Michayla Sponsel and
Sydney Kuehn had the shots on goal for the Wildcats, while
Kristen Burke was the other Wildcat to record a shot.
Linfield is now 6-4-1 in NWC play, while Puget Sound is 9-1-1. Both teams are in the top four of the Northwest Conference standings.
