McMinnville, Ore. — It was a tough night for the Linfield men as they would lose their home opener by a final score of 0-1. It was a back and forth match all throughout with both teams getting a lot of chances. Noe Favilla would get Multnomah's lone goal after taking the ball into the box and slotting it home from six yards out past goal keeper,
Nick Van Kleek.
The 'Cats dominated the shot totals in this one accruing 16 shots total and six on target. The Lions would finish with eight shots and four on target. Freshman, Cesar Cruz would pace the Wildcats with two shots and had a third that he put into the net but the play was whistled dead on a hand ball call by the referee. Sophomore,
Chase Whittaker and junior,
Isaias Flores would each have one shot on target as well.
Linfield started off the match well getting the first four shots on target of the match. Multnomah would dominate the rest of the first half though before scoring their goal. The 'Cats looked liked they would get right back into it at the start of the second half before an hour long weather delay shut down all the momentum for the Wildcats. They would have a couple more chances by the end of the match but couldn't find the back of the net.
