McMINNVILLE, ORE. – A tough Northwest Conference battle for the Linfield Wildcats and Whitworth Pirates.
The Pirates got on the board first in the first minute, when Coby Yoshimura got the pass from Arielle Van Peursem and sent one at goal keeper
Madi Reimer. Reimer made a great move but unfortunately deflected the Whitworth shot into the corner of the net.
Whitworth would add to their lead in the 18
th minute. The Pirates goal would come from Yoshimura again, but this time she would take a rebounded save a just tap the ball in perfectly.
The 'Cats were able to cut the Pirates lead in half in the 54
th minute when
Sami Moellmer was able to take a shot off of the rebounded shot of
Sydney Kuehn.
Linfield was able to get off 24 total shots and nine of them being on goal compared to Whitworth's 13 shots and seven of them being on goal.
