TACOMA, WASH. – Despite getting on the board first the Wildcats were not able to hang on against the Loggers in their first Northwest Conference match up.
Shoma Okita was the first to score in the match up as he took a foul shot from the left side and was able to sneak it by Puget Sound's goalie in the tenth minute. However, the Loggers would strike back in the 13
th minute when Lincoln Schnell headed the corner kick from Sean Hamel into the back of the net to tie the match up.
Puget Sound would take the lead in the 31
st minute as Dane Schatz was able to a bang bang set up from Ange Herrera-Florez and Sam Gonzalez. In the 37
th minute Linfield would tie it up at 2-2. Gerardo Perez took a pass from
Ronan Krutzikowsky and buried the ball into the back of the net.
The Loggers were able to get one more goal before heading into halftime as Gabriel Faro-White would sneak the ball into the left side of the net off of a pass from Kian Evans in the 44
th minute.
In the 64
th minute of play the 'Cats would tie the match up on a goal by Cesar Cruz. Unfortunately for Linfield, Puget Sound would score one more time in the match at the 66
th minute and would take the match.
