SALEM, ORE. – Looking to end their season on a high note the Wildcats traveled to Salem to take on the Bearcats of Willamette. Last time out Linfield lost 2-3 at home in one overtime period.
After the first period of play Linfield and Willamette were scoreless. Finally, in the 57
th minute
Jake Prodzinski headed the ball from five yards out into the lower left corner of the goal. Prodzinski's goal was assisted by
Connor Heintz.
The Wildcats extended their lead to 2-0 in the 69
th minute as
Ronan Krutzikowsky took the throw in and placed it ten yards out for
Connor Heintz to find the back of the net.
In the 79
th minute the Bearcats were able to find the back of the net as well. As Hirkaru Ichigi took a header from ten yards out and was able to place it into the top left corner of the net.
Linfield managed to hang on to their lead and close out the season on a high note. The 'Cats were able to get 27 shots off with nine of them being on target compared to the Bearcats 18 total shots and six on goal.
