McMINNVILLE, ORE. – Linfield celebrated the careers of seniors
Luca Mallon and
Mauricio Duran before today's match against Puget Sound.
The 'Cats took the lead early as
Isaias Flores scored in the eighth minute. Flores' was able to send the ball into the upper left corner of the net after Romario Mendoza took a corner kick and set up Flores for a perfect shot.
Linfield extended their lead to 2-0 when
Dayton Farrow was able to tap the ball past the Puget Sound goal keeper off of a pass from Cesar Cruz.
The Loggers cut the Wildcats lead in half when Luke Murdock scored off of a penalty kick in the 73
rd minute of the match. Puget Sound would tie the match up four minutes later as Lincoln Schnell was able to head the ball into the upper left corner of the net.
With nine seconds left in regulation play Puget Sound managed to score off of the head of Cale Spence to defeat Linfield 3-2.
Linfield was able to get off 16 shots with five of them being on goal compared to Puget Sound's 14 shots with seven being on goal.
