WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Amidee Collecknon scored twice and
Shelby DeRocher netted the match-winning goal in overtime to lead the Linfield Wildcats to a 3-2 come-from-behind Northwest Conference victory over Whitman Sunday at the Borleske Field.
How it played out
The Wildcats found themselves in a hole in the early going. Whitman's Emily Rigsby scored at the 4:34 mark of the first period on a goal set up by Eliza Van Wetter.
The score remained 1-0 until the opening minute of the second half. The Blues' Sofia Ellington doubled the hosts' advantage, slipping a ball past Wildcats goalkeeper
Madi Reimer.
Colleknon came off the bench to tally her fourth goal of the season at 62:37, then took a feed from
Natalie Amara 14 minutes later to tie the score at 2.
Thirty-one seconds into overtime, DeRocher scored unassisted, assuring the Wildcats would head into the office season on a winning note.
Linfield outshot Whitman 16-8 for the match, including a 7-1 disparity in the second half.
