WHY LINFIELD? I chose Linfield to continue my education and focus on completing the prerequisite requirements for grad school while playing soccer. I also wanted to experience what it was like to have seasons.
WHAT DOES BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD MEAN TO YOU? Being a student-athlete means I have the opportunity to play the sport I love, with some of the greatest people I'll ever meet, while pursuing an education. It means that I get to eat, sleep, and breathe school and sport. Most of us are playing at the Division III level because we know that our next step in life is a career that does not involve our sport. However, being a student-athlete anywhere requires the same dedication and commitment to both your education and your sport. As a student-athlete, I get to experience college in a way only other student-athletes experience.
WHEN NOT COMPETING IN SPORTS OR STUDYING FOR SCHOOL, I LIKE TO SPEND MY FREE TIME…Learning new lifts in the gym, finding new routes to run and spending time with friends or FaceTiming with my family.
WHAT IS THE GREATEST LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD? I have learned a lot in the last four years as an student-athlete at Linfield. The lesson that has been most prominent this last year is understanding the importance of simplicity. I have learned that bringing it back to basics and keeping it simple is the best form of training for soccer players, especially while incorporating tactics to help with injury prevention.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR LINFIELD CAREER THUS FAR? The highlight of my Linfield athletic career was lofting a goal over the goalkeeper against Puget Sound to go up 2-0 in the last game of the season in 2018.
