WHY LINFIELD? I wanted to get away from my home state of Texas and Linfield is a scenic campus with a strong campus community that makes me feel like I have a home away from home. I also was able to meet with the team and my coach and our instant camaraderie sold me on wanting to be a part of the Linfield lacrosse family.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? Having a built-in support system that you can lean on, but that also pushes you to be the best student and athlete possible.

HOW HAS PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS MADE YOU A BETTER PERSON? I feel participating in sports has pushed me to be more outgoing and a good communicator. In a team sport you can’t leave much to chance, so you must be willing to voice your opinion and listen to others.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS? Honestly, I can’t picture what my life will exactly look like, but I plan to have a career that makes me smile, enough money to fund my adventures, and family and friends who fill my life with laughs and love.

WHAT'S THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU'VE TAKEN AND WHY? To date the best Linfield class, I have taken was a class all about podcasting. In this class I learned the ins and outs of podcasting, whether it be writing, recording, or posting. Through this class I discovered my love and talent for podcasting by creating my own podcast Factual Nonsense. I was even able to enter one of my episodes in a media festival with the help of my professors Kahlil and Kevin Curry.

WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? Asked this question last year I would have put either my brother or dad, but after an eventful freshman year my answer has shifted to reflect that of mythology. This past year, Achilles and his story have acted as an inspiration and fuel for my journey. Achilles was told to be a great warrior with only the weakness of his Achilles heel. When I ruptured my Achilles, I turned to Achilles’ story for poetic justice. I decided, since like Achilles I was taken down by my heel, I should become just as fierce. Permanently tattooed with his arrow and helmet, Achilles was a warrior and I now embody his grit, grace, and fire.

THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I'VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN... Discipline can be defined as a branch of knowledge, typically one studied in higher education. My Linfield lacrosse journey is young, but it has already taught me invaluable lessons. I walked away from last season a red shirt with no stats but instilled with wisdom and a newfound appreciation for my sport. I started off my freshman college season with a bang, rupturing my Achilles, but I gained discipline. The discipline to support my team through thick and thin. The discipline to give my all for every practice and game. The discipline to make the best out of every opportunity.

AS A LINFIELD-STUDENT ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... My goal is to give my everything to every practice and game. I want to walk away with the satisfaction of knowing I gave everything and wouldn’t change anything. My team goal is to be the best team possible. This does not necessarily mean winning and being the best (while that is the plan). Rather it means creating team creed to live by and embody so that we can be our best selves, aiding us in becoming the best team both on and off the field.
