WHY LINFIELD? I really liked Coach Kibler and the teammates I met. Also, the campus is beautiful, and they have a good program for the major I was interested in.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? It means having another family and having these people count on you. It also gives you a way to stand out on campus.

WHAT IS THE BEST CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AT LINFIELD? The best class I have taken at Linfield is Sport, Philosophy, and Society taught by Jesus Ilundain-Argurruza. It was a mix of philosophy and anthropology which was so much fun because it was a different side of anthropology that I had never seen before, and I had never taken a philosophy class before. The topics are interesting and controversial which carries over to class conversations and projects. Jesus is so energetic and the perfect professor for this class because he is so passionate about it. I focused both of my senior projects on athletics because this class helped me realize how much there is to study and that sports can be looked at through an anthropological lens.

WHEN NOT COMPETING IN SPORTS OR STUDYING FOR SCHOOL, I LIKE TO SPEND MY FREE TIME…Hiking and being outdoors. I also like to cook and eat food.

THE GREATEST LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN… Leadership and respect. I got the honor of being a 2021-22 team captain for the Lacrosse team which was years in the making as I attended team leadership meetings and gained the respect of my teammates. Thankfully, I get to grow even more as I take a captain position again this season. I have had bad captains before that only cared about if they were good and results, so my motivation is to go further than that and be a support system for the team. Being a two-sport athlete creates an even bigger challenge because there are lots of sacrifices, but it has also helped me even more with this process of learning to be a leader.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR LINFIELD CAREER THUS FAR? The highlight of my Linfield athletic career is the support we have as student-athletes and getting to play with my teammates during my freshman year, even though it was only three matches.

WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE?  My parents have been my greatest inspiration. A few years ago, my mom opened her own business and became a leading pediatric physical therapist in Hood River, which is amazing. She is always so positive and has helped me so much as I transition to college and life afterwards. My dad was one of my coaches growing up and more specifically for wrestling in High School. He shaped me into the athlete and student I am today because he taught me the right mindset and tenacity. He works so hard to make sure that women's wrestling continues to be a growing sport and is one of the reasons why I can and want to participate on a team in college.

AS A LINFIELD-STUDENT ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE… My individual goals are to make first team all-NWC and to beat my personal past statistics, specifically on groundballs and caused turnovers. I also want to be a positive force and leader on the team that my teammates can depend on. My team goals are to play cohesively and to increase our lacrosse IQs on the field and to make it to the conference tournament.
