WHY LINFIELD? My hope had always been to attend a smaller college that had a sports management program. After talking to Coach Rosenberg and visiting, I knew that Linfield was the perfect school for me. Everybody is so kind and the welcoming community made me want to call it home for the next four years.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? Being a student-athlete is very important to me. It teaches responsibility and time management skills that I will use in the workforce. It also allows me to continue with my passion of playing basketball and I feel very blessed to be able to play here at Linfield.
WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? My work ethic is what sets me apart as a student-athlete. Being under six feet tall and having the opportunity to play collegiate basketball demonstrates how hard I have worked to get to where I am today.
WHAT IS NEXT AFTER LINFIELD? From a young age, I have been intrigued with all aspects of sports and particularly the business side of professional sports. With a sports management degree from Linfield, I intend on using my experience as a player and the knowledge I gain in the classroom to give back to something that has given so much to me.
WHAT IS THE BEST CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AT LINFIELD? The best class I've taken at Linfield has probably been Sports Management. The professor is super awesome, and it really gave me direction in terms what I want to do in life.
WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? My grandpa would most likely be the most inspirational person in my life because his drive rivals no other. Bless his heart, he passed away in October of 2019; however, even though his year and a half battle with cancer, he had the most positive outlook on life. No matter how tough the situation was and how much pain he was in, he never ceased to have smile on his face and make others around him laugh. That's a constant reminder to me that whatever I'm going through, I can at least put a smile on my face and impact others around me in a positive way.
WHAT'S THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU'VE TAKEN AND WHY? Path to Wisdom with Dr. Jenn Williams because we get to read the wisdom literature in the Bible and learn more about the minor prophets who get looked over in the Old Testament.
WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? Jesus my Lord and Savior, because where people continue to fall short of the glory and expectations, He has never led me astray.
THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I'VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN... My own goals and ambitions should be less of a priority to the teams’ goals and ambitions.
AS A LINFIELD-STUDENT ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... To make it to the NCAA D3 tournament this year before I graduate.
WHEN NOT COMPETING IN SPORTS OR STUDYING FOR SCHOOL, I LIKE TO SPEND MY FREE TIME…Hanging out with my friends and preaching the gospel.
THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN… The best lesson I've learned in participating in Linfield athletics is that sense of community. Yes, I do play basketball, but I'm also a Linfield athlete just like hundreds of other student athletes. We are all part of the same Linfield community. Our team's motto "We Serve" really puts it into perspective. We all serve each other here to make everyone's Linfield experience memorable.
AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... I just want our team to play together and to be as best as we can possibly be. When you can be a part of a basketball program that has no egos and every single player plays for the guy next to him, that's truly special.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR LINFIELD CAREER THUS FAR? The highlight of my Linfield athletic career was winning the conference championship!
