Adam Howard is in his fourth year as Linfield men's soccer coach.
Before taking the helm, Howard served two years as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Linfield women's soccer program. During his time as an assistant on the women's staff, Linfield achieved a 25-9-4 overall record.
His coaching experience includes seven years in the high school ranks, including two as the boys soccer head coach at Yamhill-Carlton and two seasons as the head girls coach at his alma mater, McMinnville High School. He was voted league coach of the year during his first season as boys coach at Yamhill-Carlton, and was part of the coaching staff that helped lead Y-C to the first soccer league championship in program history.
A 2007 Linfield graduate, Howard earned three varsity letters in soccer and was a member of the Wildcats’ 2003 Northwest Conference championship team. He started in the NCAA tournament as a member of Linfield's third team to qualify for the postseason in school history. Howard earned a bachelor’s degree in education and is employed as a math teacher at McMinnville’s Patton Middle School.
As an athlete at McMinnville High School, he lettered nine times in soccer, basketball and track. During his soccer career he was part of four club state championships. His club team reached the regional semifinals twice during his youth career.
Howard and is wife, Julia Vaughan-Howard, live in McMinnville with their son, Cayd.
