SPOKANE, Wash. – Broady Dalgaard and Linfield men's soccer (1-3-2, 0-1-1 NWC) struck early in the second half and took consistent shots on Sunday, battling Whitworth (2-3-1, 0-1-1 NWC) to a 1-1 draw.
After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, Dalgaard broke the scoreless tie just 1:24 into the second half. Dalgaard finished an opportunity set up by
Oli Gaines for his second goal of the season, putting the Wildcats ahead 1-0.
The Wildcats applied the pressure all afternoon, dominating in the shots category. Freshman forward
Beckham Poirot routinely sent shots at the Pirates goal, totaling seven for the match. Whitworth answered in the 72nd minute to even the score, and neither side found another goal before the final whistle.
Linfield generated 24 shots compared to eight for Whitworth, including a 15-6 advantage in the second half. The 'Cats 24 shots are the most in a single-game since the 2022 season. The Wildcats put eight attempts on goal and earned seven corner kicks. Poirot led the attack with seven shots, while Dalgaard recorded three shots and two on goal.

Johann Singh Sanchez, Gaines and
Rylan Richter each added a shot on target.
Jacob Toves earned the starting nod, playing all 90 minutes in goal for Linfield and made two saves.Â
