Linfield Athletics welcomes the addition of Alex Lopez, recently named head coach of the Linfield Cheer team.

Lopez joins Gina Regalado, dance head coach, as a part of the coaching staff for the Cheer & Dance teams.

Coming to Linfield from Western Oregon University, Lopez was a member of the Wolves cheerleading team and is currently completing his bachelor's in criminal justice. Lopez has spent the last two seasons serving as an assistant coach for the Central High School cheer team. Previously, he spent two seasons as an assistant cheer coach at West Salem High School.

"What drove me to Linfield was the school's strong personal connection to student-athlete success and it's commitment to caring for student-athletes. I value being a part of an environment that supports athletes and sets them up for success beyong athletics." said Lopez.

Lopez is an active member and works with the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) as well as the Oregon Cheerleading Coaches Association.
