Douglas Bailey All-Region VII PING GCAA

GCAA pins Bailey on All-Region team ahead of NCAA Championship

| By:
Junior Douglas Bailey
The Golf Coaches Association of America announced their annual PING All-Region teams on Sunday evening, naming junior Douglas Bailey to the Region VII team.

The junior from Durham, Oregon, was one of five Northwest Conference Individuals to make the team from the west coast region. He joined Whitman's Grady Brown and Mason Remington, as well as Willamette's Brock Olson and Alexander Papajohn.

The announcement came at Sunday's pre-tournament banquet prior to the NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championship. Bailey is set to make the Wildcat's first appearance at the national tournament since 2011-2012 when Linfield competed as a team.

He enters the final week of his junior campaign ranked No. 33 nationally in Division III, making the jump from No. 325 entering the Spring season. The second half of his junior season saw three medalist wins while finishing inside the top-six in each event. He successfully defended his title as medalist at the 2026 Northwest Conference Golf Championships, defeating Willamette's Brock Olson with a birdie on the first playoff hole. He claimed the NWC's Player of the Year honors, as well as being named to the First Team for a third consecutive season.

It marks Bailey's first All-Region recognition of his career, entering his first appearance at the national tournament this week. He was one of ten individuals in the country to earn an individual bid to Florida.

Bailey tees it up on hole ten on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. ET on the Las Colinas Course at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida to kickstart the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship. Following 36 holes of competition, Bailey aims to remain as one of the top-six individuals not on one of the top-18 teams in order to make the cut into the final 36 holes of stroke play.
