Freshman Brody Landaker
McMINNVILLE, Ore. --- Linfield men's golf had their tournament winning streak end, still finishing second as a team at the annual Wildcat Invite at Michelbook Country Club, led by freshman Brody Landaker who tied for first.

Landaker made five birdies in his opening round to fire a two-under 70 and be tied for the lead entering Monday's final round. He remained consistent, sinking four birdies on Monday to once again shoot 70. In a playoff with Whitman's Grady Brown, Landaker made a bogey to Brown's par, unable to clinch the team's fourth medalist honor of the Spring season.

Senior Kellen Hudson jumped 13 spots from shooting 74 in round one to tie Landaker for the low round on Monday with a two-under 70. Hudson jumped from 16th to third place individually for the tournament. He nearly went bogey-free, sinking three birdies in his first nine holes before 11-straight pars ended with a bogey on the 18th hole.

Douglas Bailey jumped out to the individual lead on Sunday thanks to an eagle on his second hole of the tournament, turning at three-under 32. He finished the opening round with a one-over 73 before shooting an even-par 72 on Monday to earn yet another top-ten, finishing sixth.

Owen Irving had relatively clean cards both days, only making worse than bogey once. He was consistent with two rounds of 75 to finish tied for 20th individually. Ryder Ng made just one birdie in the two rounds but a slew of pars kept him in the mix throughout, shooting rounds of 76, 75, finishing 22nd and rounding out the team score.

Three 'Cats competed as individuals in the team's home tournament, both Timothy Morach and Zach Netter sank four birdies in the opening round to each shoot even-par 72's. Morach closed with a 77 for 16th place and Netter a 78 on Monday to tie for 20th. Sophomore Emmett Cox went 79, 80, taking 48th individually.

Whitman's Grady Brown edged out Landaker for medalist honors while leading the Blues to the team title with a total of 573 (-3) in the tournament; six strokes better than the second-place Wildcats.
