PORTLAND, Ore. --- Linfield baseball (15-10) fell to the Lewis & Clark River Otters (13-10) in a mid-week non-conference matchup on the road, 10-2.

Lewis & Clark got to Linfield starter
Wyatt Hurley out of the gate with a double and a single to open the game, scoring one on a groundout and another with a solo home run. The River Otters made Linfield pay for an infield error with two outs in the next inning, following up with a grand slam to make it 6-0 early.

Linfield scattered four hits in the first three innings, unable to break the ice. In the fourth and fifth innings, the 'Cats loaded the bases but a Gullard pop up and Holm double play ended the momentum.

The Otters added two more in the fifth with a two-out double. Gullard drove in the first run for Linfield in the sixth with an RBI-groundout, scoring
Cole Hubka. The two squads traded runs again in the seventh, as Holm drove in
Josh Mansur with a one out single to make it 9-2.

Stranding 18 runners, the Wildcats fell to the River Otters in the non-conference game on Tuesday evening, 10-2.

15-different 'Cats made at least one plate appearance in the game, with Kennel as the only batter to record two hits. A bullpen day for each team, starter
Wyatt Hurley was credited with the loss after 1.2 innings and two runs allowed.
Brian Mannion had a strong out, going 2.1 innings of one hit ball, walking two and striking out three.Â

The Wildcats are back home this Friday and Saturday, hosting the Pacific Lutheran Lutes in a three-game conference series, starting Friday at Noon at Roy Helser Field.
