SALEM, Ore. – Linfield men's golf picked up their second-straight team title and medalist of the Spring season, winning the Willamette Valley Cup by two strokes behind
Kellen Hudson's 65 in the final round to claim medalist honors just ahead of teammate
Douglas Bailey.

Kellen Hudson got off to a quick start, going four-under on his first five holes of the tournament, including making an eagle on the par-five first hole (started round on hole 16). Hudson fired a one-under 71 to sit in third after round one. Starting on hole ten, he made the turn at even par, then once again making an eagle on hole one, part of a six-under 30 on the front nine. His two birdies in the final three holes propelled him just past his teammate,
Douglas Bailey, for medalist honors.Â

Bailey, after winning medalist honors at the Spring opener in Arizona, started his first round with a par before making five-straight birdies. He shot one-under the rest of the way to card a five-under 66 and lead the tournament after round one. He led for the majority of the final round, finishing with two bogeys that helped teammate
Kellen Hudson leap him for the medalist honor.

Freshman
Brody Landaker also made an eagle on his way to an opening round 73 that helped Linfield be tied for second in the team standings after 18 holes. He remained consistent, shooting an even-par 71 with four birdies in the final round to finish 19
th for the tournament.

Owen Irving rounded out the team score for Saturday's opening round with a 78,  finishing with a 77 on Sunday that did not factor into the team score on Sunday. Irving finished tied for 56th individually.
Zach Netter rebounded from an 88 on Saturday to close out the tournament with a 73 to help the Wildcats secure the team title over Whitman by two strokes.Â

Head coach Mitchel Wilson sent a trio of Wildcats to compete individually in the tournament.
Ryder Ng also competed as an individual in the Spring opener, this time, finishing in sixth place with rounds of 70, 71 (-1).
Timothy Morach fired rounds of 74, 78, taking 49
th, while
Emmett Cox shot a pair of 74's to take 56
th.Â

Linfield swept both titles once again, continuing their strong start to the Spring season with hopes of going back-to-back at the NWC Championship Tournament. The 'Cats defeated six NWC schools over the weekend, including nationally-ranked No. 12 Willamette and No. 19 Whitman.Â

The Wildcats compete again in two weeks at the GFU Invite at Arrowhead Golf Course in Molalla, Oregon.
