NEWBERG, Ore. – Two dozen Linfield track and field athletes competed Saturday at the George Fox Indoor 2 meet, the final tuneup prior to the start of the official spring outdoor season.

A handful of personal records and top-five finishes were recorded by the Wildcats at the meet, which included a collection of college teams, high school individuals and at-large entries and was staged inside George Fox University's on-campus indoor facility.

Among the leading placers for the women were
Isabella Grutsch, third in the 60-meter hurdles (9.29 seconds) and third in the long jump (17 feet, 1¼ inches, PR);
Sage Cramp, third in the pole vault (10-11¾); and
Islee Siliga, third in the shot put (36-3½).

Turning in the top placements for the men were Hudson Hozhauer, second in the weight throw (51-5);
Durham Huson, fourth in the long jump (20-5½); and
Shyson Cachuela, fifth in the shot put (43-11¼).

Linfield hosts the annual Erik Anderson Memorial Icebreaker Friday and Saturday at Maxwell Field to kick off the outdoor season. Friday's schedule consists of two 10,000-meter races starting at 6 p.m. The remainder of the meet begins Saturday with field events starting at 9 a.m. and running events getting underway at 10 a.m.
